At the WRITE Start Writer’s Retreat, we create an intimate and interactive workshop experience that follows the WRITE Start writing and self-publishing process. Our retreat is cozy and engaging, with discussion-circle gatherings that foster closeness and real conversations. The facilitator guides the group through workshop topics, while breakout discussions build camaraderie and accountability. Here, you’ll dive deep into workshop concepts and explore how they apply to your unique book idea.

Pre-Event:

  • Details: Hear from Morgan and other inspirational professionals. It’s a great chance to explore the grounds of the world’s oldest university, soak in the architecture and history, and maybe even take a tour of the university grounds after the event.

The Write Start Writer’s Retreat rate includes:

  • 6-hour writer’s workshop (3 hours each day)
  • A one-on-one writer’s coaching call with Morgan pre-event
  • Get ready for retreat group call pre-event
  • All workshop materials
  • Special gift upon check-in at the retreat
  • Welcome reception at the Artist Residence pub on Sunday, October 27
  • Light snacks and beverages each day during the workshop on Monday, October 28, and Tuesday 29
  • Tickets to the bLU Talks event at the University of Oxford on October 30.

What is NOT included in the workshop rate:

  • Your travel (flight, transportation to/from retreat)
  • Your lodging (book directly with the preferred lodging- the Artist Residence, Oxfordshire, or at your own selected location nearby)
  • Your transportation from The Writer’s Retreat at the Artist Residence to the University of Oxford for the bLU Talks event on October 30.
  • Your excursions (suggestions provided, but arrange and book on your own as these are not a part of the retreat)

*Signing the travel and liability waiver is required for all participants.

Sunday, October 27:

  • Arrive at the Artist Residence, Oxfordshire
  • 6pm: Evening Welcome Reception at The Mason Arms @ the Artist Residence, Oxfordshire

Monday, October 28:

  • 9-12pm: Writer’s Retreat Day 1 at the Artist Residence, Oxfordshire. Light snack and beverage included.
  • Time TBD: Optional Evening feedback and sharing session at The Mason Arms.

Tuesday, October 29:

  • 9-12pm: Writer’s Retreat Day 2 at the Artist Residence, Oxfordshire. Light snack and beverage included.

Wednesday, October 30:

  • Time TBD: Option to attend bLU Talks event at the University of Oxford (tickets included)
  • Departures (or extend your stay on your own!)

Getting There:

Booking your airfare, lodging, and other necessary travel to and from the event is at your own risk and on your own. Each participant is required to sign the travel and liability waiver before attending.
